Pioneer Heritage Center LSUS
The Center was established in 1977 as a joint project of LSU Shreveport and the Junior League of Shreveport. The buildings, exhibts and trained staff guide visitors through the structures that give insight into the diverse cultral history, the natural environment, and the daily lives of the settlers who lived in the region from the 1830s to the 1930s.
Maintenance of the Pioneer Heritage Center grounds is one of the annual projects of the Northwest Louisiana Master Gardeners and the location for the vendor market at Le Tour des Jardins.
