Ranger Terri Jacobson from the Red River Wildlife Refuge gave a very interesting presentation on Creating a Wild Bird Habitat at Home at our August meeting. She detailed the benefits, the plants and the things we can do to bring birds to our gardens.
The mission is to be an advocate for the Red River NWR by promoting and participating in the conservation, enhancement, and appreciation of our native wildlife communities through education, fund raising, development of partnerships, and development of onsite projects for volunteers. |

Mark Rodie from Cumberland Farms presented at the meeting. Their mission is to restore lives, create jobs and ignite hope in a once forgotten and neglected neighborhood with some of the most marginalized people. On the property, they have combined programs that lift up this community by addressing health, wellness, and housing challenges. They would like to connect Cumberland to all of Bossier-Shreveport and beyond. They welcome anyone who would like to join in this life changing mission to Grow Food & Grow People!
